Nicola Cosgrove

Co-creator & Lawyer

Nic Cosgrove and Chris Cruikshank are the masterminds behind Hearsay. Nic holds an EMBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, a double Bachelor of Arts and Laws and a Master of Laws from the University of Wollongong, she also teaches at the Law Faculty of her alma mater.

But Nic isn’t all caught up in academia, her day job is running the boutique financial services law firm Assured Legal Solutions in Sydney’s CBD, which she co-founded. And did we mention she’s also an exceptionally talented insolvency lawyer? Well, she is.

When Nic isn’t teaching, studying, lawyering, managing, she’s planning and plotting whom to interview next on Hearsay. She also enjoys eating chocolate, reading, baking (we could go on about her rocky road for ages) and, you guessed it, listening to podcasts.

Chris Cruikshank

Co-creator & Lawyer

Chris Cruikshank and Nic Cosgrove are the masterminds behind Hearsay. As a highly-regarded legal practitioner in Australia, Chris’ deep understanding of the sector comes in handy when setting out the topics to cover on the podcast.

Chris works at Assured Legal Solutions in Sydney’s CBD, a boutique financial services law firm he co-founded. Prior to being the master of his own destiny (or co-master) Chris was a partner at a leading international law firm. He also squeezed in a 3-year stint in the London office of Latham and Watkins, the pre-eminent global law firm and has received numerous awards and mentions throughout his career.

When Chris isn’t busy providing legal advice or polishing his trophies (legal trophies that is, he sucks at sport) he’s at home with his family, probably singing “Let It Go”.

David Turner

Host & Lawyer

David Turner has a gift for teasing out people’s stories, so it’s no wonder he is Hearsay’s host. With a double Bachelor of Arts and Laws from Macquarie University, he is also an MBA candidate at UNSW’s Australian Graduate School of Management.

When he isn’t interviewing people on Hearsay, David is a lawyer at Assured Legal Solutions, a boutique financial services law firm located in Sydney’s CBD. Prior to joining Assured, he was called to the NSW Bar, and is a former President of NSW Young Lawyers and a former Councillor of the Law Society of NSW.

David spends the little downtime that he has left reading historical fiction and tinkering on home improvement projects.

Kirti Kumar

Research Executive & Lawyer

Kirti Kumar is responsible for Hearsay’s educational content. She creates episode content and learning modules that guarantee the 1 hour CPD point for each listener.

Kirti holds a Bachelor of Medical Science and Juris Doctor from UTS and works full time as a lawyer at Assured Legal Solutions, a boutique financial services law firm in Sydney’s CBD.

When she’s not practising law or researching podcasts, you can find her spending time with her pet Labrador Benji and… tidying. She has a real knack for keeping things in order. All. The. Time.
